The Peter King Collection

We are pleased to announce that the Peter King Collection is now finally available for you to view in the Gallery/Cartoons section of the website. The superb individual drawings were done about 20 years ago when Peter was a struggling young artist, so it may be difficult for you to recognise some of the band with hair and cheekbones, but the instruments are a clue. The sketches were thought to be lost for many years but were found languishing in the National Portrait Gallery archives, and have been restored to their former glory for display in our Gallery section.

The eagle eyed amongst you may noticed that the portrait of Tommy is missing from the collection, and its whereabouts are still unknown. It was last seen on his bedroom ceiling next to his giant mirror, where it was seen by thousands. It is thought thieves stole it while Tommy was sleeping one afternoon and the search continues. Rest assured that we will leave no stone unturned to one day include it in the Gallery, as the Mona Lisa of the collection. If anyone knows of its wherabouts please let one of the band know, in order to claim your hefty reward.

Stay tuned to this site for the latest developments in the saga.

Gig News

After last weeks storming gig at Cookies, even without the brass section, we are back on the Big House on 29 October for the first time in a couple of months. It's always a spooktacular night so make sure you don't miss out on your trick or treat for a Halloween extravaganza (its 2 days before actually, but any excuse for a party). Oh yes, and the brass is back.

VIs Knocked Out

Sorry to anyone who turned up at the Big House the other night only to find us knocked off the bill by the boxing. When we got to the pub the boxing was still on and The Dockers hadn't even started yet, so it was decided that we wouldn't have time to play by the time we had set up and everything. A bad night all around!

But its not all bad news. There are now new videos on our YouTube site for you to enjoy. The sound on them is pretty poor but it quantity that counts - right! - and there are loads of them. Apparently some people (the band) have been having trouble finding the videos so here is the llink to our YouTube site (Tip: you have to click on it).

From there you can subscribe to the site and get emails to let you know when new content is added, although I realise that may be too complicated for some people (the band again), so you can just click 'see all' in the right hand column. You may also be interested in another excellent site which contains Vis vids and some other funny stuff by TC.

Well that just about wraps it up for now, and once again apologies to anyone who went to the Big House, especially Gill and Pam if they brought the video out with them. See you all at Cookies this week, hopefully.

Site update

It's been a while since the site was updated, apart from the gig guide, so we thought we may as well give the site a bit of a facelift while we were at it.

A new mp3 player has been added in the sidebar, but I haven't been able to get it to keep playing when you change pages, but at least you can change the volume on this one.

You may also have noticed the old cartoon header gone, replaced by the gallery view on the home page. Hope you like it, if not it can always be changed back, just let us know.

New Video

You may be pleased to know that the long forgotten Caradoc video has finally been put on YouTube. It contains the best start to a video you are ever likely to see anywhere else in the world. The Vis Johnson stuntman makes his first and only appearance right at the start of the video, so you can just play that over and over if the sight of the badly dressed band is not to your liking. You can click here to be taken to the video, or find it and have a look at some of our other videos in the VIdeo section of the website, well worth a visit.

You may be even happier to know that the band have arranged to play at Cookies for the next two bank holidays. Yes that's right, two! The first is Easter Saturday so you have two days to recover from what is sure to be a good night. The second is on Sunday afternoon on the May bank holiday weekend.

So there you have it, what a great time to be alive and a Vis fan, not only a new video but gigs on Cookies too.
