The Peter King Collection

We are pleased to announce that the Peter King Collection is now finally available for you to view in the Gallery/Cartoons section of the website. The superb individual drawings were done about 20 years ago when Peter was a struggling young artist, so it may be difficult for you to recognise some of the band with hair and cheekbones, but the instruments are a clue. The sketches were thought to be lost for many years but were found languishing in the National Portrait Gallery archives, and have been restored to their former glory for display in our Gallery section.

The eagle eyed amongst you may noticed that the portrait of Tommy is missing from the collection, and its whereabouts are still unknown. It was last seen on his bedroom ceiling next to his giant mirror, where it was seen by thousands. It is thought thieves stole it while Tommy was sleeping one afternoon and the search continues. Rest assured that we will leave no stone unturned to one day include it in the Gallery, as the Mona Lisa of the collection. If anyone knows of its wherabouts please let one of the band know, in order to claim your hefty reward.

Stay tuned to this site for the latest developments in the saga.
