The Vis Johnson Band

The following videos were taken at the 2010 CookieFest. There was a slight problem with the sound dropping out whenever the camera was zoomed, but it shouldn't spoil your enjoyment of the majority of the material.

Resurrection Shuffle

To get to the Resurrection Shuffle bit you have to endure the 'gospelly' bits first, but well worth the wait. A fitting end to a great day at the Cooksons Bridge Pub music festival.

A few problems at the start and end of the video with some bits missing (think the cameraman was having problems holding his pint and camera at the same time).

I Need You

It's a Beatles song but according to Wikipedia it is "based on common guitar suspended chords in the key of A, forming the introduction and most of the verse of the song and giving a quasi modal effect that is relieved in the verse by a line in the relative minor, the whole making a fourteen bar ternary verse structure. This , after a repeat, segues easily into a second, bridge melody that introduces a cowbell for contrast and is based on a simple IV-V-I chord progression that passes through the dominant key to resolve back on the verse", (we knew that!)

Nothing Like a Dame

A Vis Johnson classic, well it's Rogers and Hammerstein really, but the band have made it their own, and is high on the most requested song list. Worth watching just for Tommy's "here come the mods" comment half way through the song.
